Work-life balance: our initiatives
New initiatives for Galdi employees, for a better balance between personal and professional life
Galdi has always been committed to promoting a culture that respects the individual needs of its employees and fosters a good work-life balance.
The Family Audit Executive certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the well-being of our employees and to ensuring a harmonious synergy in work-life balance.
On May 17, 2023, Galdi officially became a certified Family Audit Executive company: after the first three-year period, the first year of the maintenance triennium is coming to an end. The certification process lasts for three years and requires the company to annually update its business plan and data collection model, as well as undergo an evaluation visit.
In Italy, 333* organizations have been certified through the Family Audit process, an initiative created by the Autonomous Province of Trento and extended nationally to certify an organization’s (whether public or private) commitment to adopting measures that promote work-life balance, equal opportunities, and overall organizational well-being among its employees. Of these, 58 companies are located in the Veneto region, including Galdi.
As a company certified with the Family Audit mark, Galdi is focused every day on the corporate well-being of its employees, implementing organizational and resource management policies that aim to foster a balanced and sustainable work environment, thereby improving work well-being and the company climate.
These initiatives are born and carried forward thanks to the employees themselves. Galdi has established its own internal Family Audit committee: a diverse group of people and colleagues who act as spokespersons for ideas, proposals, and suggestions from the entire company population. The internal working group plays an extremely important role in the company: it represents all Galdi employees, proposes, discusses, and develops new ideas, and acts as a point of reference to which the Management Group can turn to define certain operational choices before making final decisions, which are then made by the Management.
In the past year, Galdi has implemented a series of concrete activities and actions to provide its employees with the necessary tools to best manage their professional responsibilities. For example, it offers employees the possibility of flexible working hours, the use of modern digital technologies to perform their tasks remotely in smart working mode, and initiatives aimed at the well-being of employees and their families, covering themes such as health, fitness, training opportunities, and professional and personal development.
Moving in this direction, one of the latest initiatives promoted by Galdi is the introduction of an additional second day of smart working per week, starting in May 2024.
This initiative aims to improve the balance between private life and work activities for employees who meet certain criteria, such as having children under 12 years old, caregiving and family assistance needs, living more than 30 km from the Galdi headquarters, or regularly engaging in competitive sports or professional activities.
Being certified Family Audit means for Galdi further valuing one of the common benefit goals included in the company statute with the transition to a Benefit Corporation: “Ensuring the well-being of workers, their families, and the community through the development of initiatives that promote the growth of skills, awareness, and the dissemination of healthy lifestyles and principles of respect and diversity.”
