Burnbrae Farms

Burnbrae Farms and Galdi, many shared values and a common goal: to improve while respecting quality, the environment, employees and the community

One of the key players in the Canadian agri-food industry, Burnbrae Farms chose Galdi to install a Gable Top packaging machine for liquid eggs.

The project enabled us to find a company that shares an entrepreneurial past and present, and a future based on common values.

The partner: Burnbrae Farms

Founded in 1891 as a dairy farm, Burnbrae Farms began its egg production in the 1940s driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of the brothers Grant and Joe Hudson.

In 1973, the company introduced the processing and packaging of liquid eggs, starting to offer the Gable Top carton as a container for the retail market in 1998.

Run by the Hudson family from the outset, now in its sixth generation, today Burnbrae Farms is the largest family-owned business in Canada.

The company’s commitment to guarantee safe and healthy products goes hand in hand with a multigenerational vision that has been promoting and defending key values for many years: from the sustainable use of resources to a strong focus on the well-being of employees and the community.

The client’s requirements

  • Packaging machine with high standards of hygiene
  • User-friendliness for operators
  • Reduced water consumption

The experience with Galdi

As a well-structured company, Burnbrae Farms selected the partner for packaging its products based on a few crucial parameters:

  • Technological level of the packaging machine
  • Maximum attention to food safety
  • User-friendliness for operators
  • Pre- and post-sales assistance
  • Competitive price

Having satisfied the requirements, Galdi was chosen by the company to define the project.

The partnership provided us with an opportunity to discover a company that shares our values and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Hence, we welcomed the visit to our premises by the CEO, Margaret Hudson, whose entrepreneurial history has many similarities with that of Antonella Candiotto, Galdi's President and CEO.

One year after installing the Gable Top liquid-egg packaging machine, the operators are highly satisfied with the user-friendliness and ergonomic design of the machine.

The automated washing system of the installed RG270 filling machine also actively supports the company in reducing water consumption for its production processes. Burnbrae Farms has always pursued this commitment also shared by Galdi, which makes research into innovative and sustainable solutions a priority.
