The new Galdi Bistro: wellbeing on your plate

Galdi Bistro has recently opened in the heart of the Galdi Village. Quality produce and freshly prepared meals are the key ingredients for the wellbeing of employees and visitors alike.

Opened in January 2022, Galdi Bistro is the icing on the cake of the Galdi Village, a place to fill.

Galdi's new staff dining area was designed with a specific purpose: healthy and natural eating was to take centre stage.

To turn this idea into reality, our team worked with catering expert Hospes (Elior Group), a leader in the field of responsible and sustainable food service.

Alessia Flore, Galdi's Hospitality Manager, spoke to us about the philosophy behind the food choices at Galdi Bistro:

"The Bistro is another step toward the enhancement of workplace wellbeing, which is at the very core of the Village. Healthy eating is, indeed, an essential aspect of quality of life...and work productivity too. We believe that lunch breaks should be a time to treat ourselves to genuine and well-balanced meals - and that they should also taste and look great. After all, we are Italians!"

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!


professional kitchen, an experienced chef and nutritionist-approved menus. Add to that natural, seasonal and locally sourced products.

Mix with Vegan, Vegetarian, and also Dairy and Gluten Free options for people with food sensitivities.

Stir in a dash of creativity, with theme menus, like the Back From the Holidays Detox Menu or the 5-Colour Menu!

And, for a perfect ending, once a week is pizza day, the epitome of Italian food.

SUSTAINABILITY IS INGREDIENT #1


The importance of a healthy and balanced diet goes hand in hand with sustainability, a value shared by Galdi and Hospes alike.

In line with our commitment to the environment, we are implementing several eco-friendly practices:

  • Sustainable menus, with a focus on organic and locally sourced produce
  • Hospes and Milan's Cattolica University carried out a study on the environmental impact of food and canteen menus
  • Food waste reduction
  • Eco-friendly cutlery and table service equipment, such as FSC paper, glassware, trays made from sustainable materials, etc.
  • When placing an order, displays show the ecological footprint for each dish, promoting greater awareness of the impact of food on the environment.

A HEALTHY PLACE TO EAT


he bright and airy space at Galdi Bistro tries to steal the show from the mouth-watering dishes prepared by the chef.

The large windows offer a magnificent view of the garden and the surrounding landscape, while also providing a great source of natural light.

The big tables are ideal for socializing (safely!) and will be perfect for the many events that will be held at the premises, from after-work get-togethers to coffee breaks during meetings organized by Galdi!

What else is cooking? Well, some of our ideas for the future include the possibility to order dinner and groceries directly from Galdi Bistro.

A few weeks on from the opening, satisfaction rates among employees are sky-high. The chef has been really spoiling us with a range of tasty and delicious meals!
